Statue of Antinoos. After lunch, the return to Athens
will be via the picturesque mountain village of Arachova,
built on the south slopes of Parnassus, well known for
its attractive hand-woven carpets, rugs and quilts, as

site of the stone, the centre of the earth and the
universe. |

Tour 4 – Aegina, Poros, Hydra September 18 - one day € 90,00 p.p.
Upon arrival to Piraeus you will receive a warm
welcome from our Officers and Hostesses who
will assist you with boarding on one of our luxurious
cruise ships and invite you to proceed either to
the Main Lounge, where our live orchestra has
already started putting you in the right mood with
its international music repertoire, or to one of the
spacious open decks where you can enjoy the
fascinating view as the ship leaves the port.
The order in which we shall visit the islands of
the Saronic Gulf is either Poros – Hydra – Aegina
or Aegina – Poros – Hydra, but it does not change
the duration of stay on any of the islands.
Poros is the smallest island, with rich vegetation.
Much of the northern and far eastern/western
sides of the island are bushy, whereas large areas
of old pine forest are found in the south and center
of the island.
Hydra is separated from the Peloponnese by the
narrow Hydra Gulf: it has a very special architecture
and dramatic landscapes whose old traditional stone
houses and mansions silently witness a long and
turbulent history.
Aegina, during ancient times, was a rival to Athens,
the great sea power of the era. It is the largest of
the three islands. Apart from its harbor there are numerous interesting sites to discover
on the island, that is why you will have the chance to choose among 3 optional tours… |
| |
Tour 5 - Cape Sounion September 19 - half day € 35,00 p.p.
Join this wonderful drive along the scenic coastal road, which affords a splendid view
of the Saronic Gulf, passing through some of
Athens most beautiful suburbs (Glyfada,
Vouliagmeni, Varkiza). In Cape Sounion you will
visit the 5th century B.C. Temple of Poseidon,
with one of the most breathtaking panoramic
views in the world. The precipice is a sheer 197
feet drop to the sea. |
