AIM RE-GROUPS IN THE MOUNTAINS
More than a hundred key staff members of the AIM Group recently gathered for a three day meeting in Cortina d’Ampezzo. It has been a very fruitful opportunity to share new ideas on facing the developments in the meeting market and to strengthen the global strategy of the Group.In addition to the working groups and to the the plenary sessions, the participants have been involved in very enjoyable team building activities: after a great barbecue in the wild, the whole staff, divided in working groups had to collaborate and capture their creative imagination in a free work of art. “Volare oltre” (Fly beyond), the headline of Cortina 2008, represents the perfect synthesis of this successful meeting.

NEW LONG TERM CONTRACTS WITH EUROPEAN INSTITUTIONS
Two important long term agreements have been signed between AIM Congress and European Commission institutions, after successful selections through international call for tenders.
The ETF (European Training Foundation), one of the decentralised agencies of the European Union, based in Turin, has appointed AIM Congress as official professional organiser of the events promoted in the EU Member States and in the ETF partner countries (Balkans, Middle East, Mediterranean area, former USSR republics).
According to the framework contract 2008 / 2011, AIM will manage around 40 events per year.
AIM Congress has signed also a 4-years contract with the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development, the largest DG of the European Commission, based in Brussels.
AIM will manage the organization of conferences, seminars and other events in the 27 EU Member States and Candidate Countries, on behalf of the DG Agriculture.
The activities connected to these contracts will be managed by two dedicated teams.
Another dedicated unit of AIM Congress is managing since 2006 the conferences of the EFSA (European Food Safety Authority), based in Parma.

AIM GROUP COMPLETES ACQUISITION OF “CONBALTAS UAB”
The consistent growth of AIM Group in the European market is continuously carrying on: a recent significant step is represented by the acquisition of the majority of “Conbaltas UAB”, one of the leading Professional Conference Organisers in Baltic region.
Based in Vilnius (Lithuania), Conbaltas is specialized in the organisation and management of medical meetings, congresses and other events.
It is a reliable and professional company providing a high quality service in the full management of national and international events: Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, Neurology, Infectious Disease, Hematology, Oncology, Sports Medicine are the major therapeutical areas covered by Conbaltas activity.
Therefore, AIM Group will broaden and strengthen its partnership with medical associations and pharmaceutical companies through the combined and synergic activities of Conbaltas and AIM Baltic, the Group branch already established in Vilnius since 2006.
As a result of the acquisition, AIM Group will now have a greater presence in Eastern countries, carrying out its development within this strategic geographical region.
